We are all different

In the last section, you learned about the negativity effect, where one’s mind exaggerates negative events while minimising positive events. I will describe other unhelpful thoughts at various points on this website. This will help you recognise such thoughts if they occur in your mind. I will also provide you with psychological tools to deal with unhelpful thoughts.

However, not all the content here will be helpful for you. For example, maybe you found that the negativity effect that you read about in the previous section was not relevant to the way you think. This is entirely expected as we are all different individuals. What is helpful for one person may not be that helpful for someone else. The way our minds work and the circumstances we live in also differ. All of us are unique, and that is what makes the world beautiful.

Regarding the information on this website, please take what you think is relevant to you, and ignore what is not. Similar to how one selects food when visiting an all-you-can-eat buffet. There is a lot of food at a buffet, some of which one will find attractive and others that will not be appealing.

To enjoy one’s meal, one will only serve oneself the food one likes. Similarly, feel free to take what you like on this website and leave behind what you think will not be helpful.

However, try not to be too selective in what you try. You will not have much variety to feast on if you are too choosy.

Sometimes, it’s worth tasting foods that are new to you before deciding whether you will like them or not. That can help you discover new foods, increasing your choice of food. Similarly, try not to dismiss everything on this website immediately. Some things are best tried and experimented with before you decide they are not valuable to you.

If you decide to put aside some sections on this website, you can always return to them later, as the website will remain open. You’re welcome to the “Happy Thinking Buffet” to take a bite whenever you want.
